TORONTO, April 21, 2025 – After much research and consideration, Cooperate for Canada (C4C) has finalized their candidate endorsements, now published on https://cooperateforcanada.ca/federal-unity-candidates/
“We have worked to create a list where strategic voting is needed, and will preserve as much political diversity as possible, while still defeating the Poilievre Conservatives,” said Barbara Schumacher, Cooperate for Canada. “A healthy democracy encompasses a variety of political voices.”
C4C was originally established to persuade the Liberals, NDP, Greens, and Bloc Quebecois to cooperate electorally to stop the far-right. However, these centre/left parties refused to put Canada’s needs ahead of their partisan interests.
“Because the centre/left parties have refused to work together, many voters are turning to the Liberals to ensure that vote-splitting does not deliver a Conservative win,” said Marilyn Hay, Cooperate for Canada. “We hope our list helps them understand where vote-splitting is a concern, and more importantly, where they can vote for their preferred party.”
The final list is on the C4C website. In addition to the endorsements, C4C has also added some ridings for Special Consideration. Candidates in these riding are not always the strategic choice per polling projections, but local information indicates they may be worth supporting.
“Polling in Canada is very good, but there are always local factors missed by the riding projections,” adds Schumacher. “We encourage people to look at our reasons, and vote, volunteer, and donate to support these candidates.”
