Send A Thank You Note To These Three Wonderful Cooperation MPPs

On Feb. 10, 2026, the Ottawa Chapter of Fair Vote Canada organized a webinar featuring MPPs from three different parties, discussing how their parties could work together to bring proportional representation to Ontario. This was a huge symbolic event. We won’t get our voting system changed if the Liberals, NDP and Greens won’t work on it together. If you didn’t get to watch it live, you can view the video here

The three Panelists were:

  • Chris Glover, NDP MPP, Spadina-Fort York and NDP shadow critic for democratic reform
  • Mary-Margaret McMahon, Liberal MPP, Beaches-East York
  • Mike Schreiner, Green MPP, Guelph and the leader of the Green party

At the end of the webinar, the three panelists agreed they wanted to continue working on this project. They called for viewers to support their efforts by talking to friends, MPPs, the media etc.

These three MPPs need to know that we appreciate their efforts. We want to encourage them to get others to join and take concrete steps. Here is how you can help.

Send a thank you email to the three participating MPPs: mmcmahon.mpp.co@liberal.ola.org , mschreiner@ola.org , cglover-qp@ndp.on.ca

Below you will find three sample emails that you can copy in part or in whole. The more you alter and personalize the email, the better. Feel free to write one from scratch. If you the time and energy, see if you can get a few friends to do the same.

Thanks for your efforts,

Cooperate for Canada

Subject Line – Thanks for supporting electoral reform

Dear Chris Glover, Mary-Margaret McMahon and Mike Schreiner

A friend of mine just sent me a link to the Fair Vote Canada’s webinar on Feb. 10 that you participated in. It is making the rounds of the PR crowd and giving us lots of hope that we can succeed. You are inspiring us to work harder.

Thanks for being so public about your thoughts on proportional presentation. After eight years of false majority governments in Ontario, the majority of citizens are being ignored.  The need for change has never been more apparent.  We won’t succeed unless the three parties work together to make this happen.

Once again, thank you for all that you do,

Subject Line – A long, over-due note of thanks

Dear Mike Schreiner, Mary-Margaret McMahon and Chris Glover,

I recently watched the recording of the discussion that you had together in Fair Vote Canada’s webinar on Feb. 10. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for being so open and honest and willing to work together publicly in supporting proportional representation.

The three of you are demonstrating a real concern about what has been happening to Ontario over the last 8 years with undeserved majority governments. You are willing to consider how your three parties could work together to improve the lives of all Ontario residents.

You called on the viewers to do their part and I and many others are supporting you in this effort. If we are going to succeed in getting rid of “First Past the Post”, we need to get the support of the public, social media, traditional media, party faithful, MPPs, etc. etc.

Good luck working within your parties and at the Legislature. We are going to build the movement you need to succeed.

Yours very thankfully,

Subject – Thank you for cooperating for proportional representation

Dear Mary-Margaret McMahon, Mike Schreiner, and Chris Glover

You three are fantastic.

You recognize that our voting system is wildly unfair and is leading to bad policies from a ‘majority’ government that only received 43% of the vote. This leaves you and your parties almost powerless to push back.  And leaves the majority of voters frustrated and without a voice.

We are only going to get proportional representation if the NDP, Greens, and Liberals work together. The three of you bravely took the very public step of participating in Fair Vote Canada’s webinar on Feb. 10. It was so refreshing to hear the three of you listening to each other and collaborating on this very important issue.

I think that electoral reform is the most important issue we face. Without it our democratic powers will continue to be eroded, climate action will remain non-existent, and our education and health care systems won’t be fixed.

During the webinar, you said that you were willing to continue working together on this. Thank you.

You also said that you need the listeners to do their part. I agree. We need to get everyone up in arms – the general public, social and traditional media, and NGOs of all stripes. We accept the task.

Keep up all the great work that you do,
